Fusilli Lunghi Bucati are originally from Campania and have a simple spiral shape.
In the past, Fusilli were handmade using a method passed down from generation to generation: a string of spaghetti had to be twisted quickly around a knitting needle with a skillful hand. The power required to perform this procedure is reminiscent of that of spinners and in fact the term “fusillo” comes from “fuso” (spindle), the typical tool spinners used for their work.
